About in24
in24 is a micro-asset finance platform focused on expanding access to essential assets across Africa.
Making the last mile bankable
in24 was founded by a group of former microfinance and PAYGo leaders who have spent decades working in last-mile finance across Africa.
Through this experience we have seen both how asset finance can work well, and how it can fail. We have seen how access to productive assets can transform livelihoods. But we have also seen how many households and small entrepreneurs remain excluded from financing.
Many microfinance institutions continue to focus primarily on working capital loans and often overlook the opportunity to finance products in rural and underserved markets. At the same time, distributors frequently try to offer in-house financing to enable sales, but these credit operations are often difficult to manage and rarely reach their full potential.
From experience to a new model
The founders of in24 worked closely together through the Micro Asset Finance Lab (formerly PAYGo Lab), supporting PAYGo companies and microfinance institutions across Africa.
Through this work the same question kept returning: how can asset finance for the last mile be done better?
Over time a clear idea emerged. What if a dedicated asset finance company focused entirely on the last mile could combine the discipline of microfinance with the speed and customer focus needed for asset sales?
In 2024 this idea became in24.
The concept is simple: approve loans within 24 hours, apply best-practice microfinance methods to manage risk and protect customers, and keep the process fast and practical so that distributors can close sales and low-income households are not excluded from access to assets.
Customers can then repay their loans in affordable installments, typically over 24 months.
Building a platform for the last mile
in24 is designed as a dedicated micro-asset finance platform working with trusted distributors that sell high-quality assets to households and entrepreneurs.
The platform combines disciplined credit assessment, technology-enabled processes and strong distributor partnerships to enable responsible financing at scale.
Pilot operations are currently underway in Uganda, with expansion planned in Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique and Kenya.
Our ambition
The goal of in24 is not only to build a strong company.
Our ambition is to help make the last mile bankable.
When households and small entrepreneurs gain reliable access to financing for assets, they can increase income, reduce costs and improve their resilience.
Over time this means that families and businesses are able to invest in the tools they need to grow and improve their lives.
